Scout Sixteen - Lifetime Collective Jacket Scout Sixteen - Lifetime Collective Jacket Scout Sixteen - Lifetime Collective Jacket Scout Sixteen - Herschel Supply Backpack

It’s been unseasonably warm this month in New York City. I’m constantly waffling between putting my summer items in storage and walking out of the house in a bathing suit. But on the days when the temperature drops, I cannot wait to pop on one of my favorite coats and tackle the day. One of the current favorites is this wicked striped wool beast from Lifetime Collective… I mean, honestly, how rad is this jacket?

I’m 5’10″ so I always struggle with finding “long” coats that don’t make me look short/squatty. The key is in the length of the jacket – it should end about 1.5-2 inches above your knee. This will keep your looking tall and trim… yes and thank you.

Back in grade school, there were few articles of clothing more conducive to “casual cool” than cargo pants. I wanted so badly to emulate the swagger that those 8th grade casanovas; unfortunately, I was still trying to make overalls a thing. They say fashion comes full circle and – in this case – it surely does. I recently discovered this pair of fitted camouflage cargo pants from PacSun. If you’ve been looking for a good pair, you don’t have to look much further.

My favorite part about these cargo pants is their ability to be both dressed down for a Saturday afternoon or dressed up a bit for a Monday meeting. Camouflage in its truest sense. Would you wear them?

A funny feeling unfolds when you slip your arms into a new leather jacket. It’s not quite other-worldly but is ripe with an almost visceral giddiness. Thanks to cinematic badasses like Arthur Fonzarelli, Danny Zuko, and Stanley Kowalski, leather outerwear gained an undeniable street cred that altered the face of casual menswear forever.

Armani Exchange recently asked me to test-drive a few pieces from their fall collection. I quickly gravitated towards the edgier basics and raw denim – as I am inclined to do – until I spotted this faux leather and wool moto jacket. Slim-fitting and insanely comfortable, this jacket is one of my new fall favorites. Unlike some leather and faux leather jackets that tend to swallow your frame, this A/X jacket employs a bevy of visual contours to accentuate the chest and shoulders. So what do you think? Would you consider this jacket for fall?

I’m sure you’ll ask me, the jeans are from A/X, too. And yes – they’re perfect for those of us in the “small waist, athletic thigh” category.

Scout Sixteen - Eyefly Scout Sixteen - Eyefly Scout Sixteen - Eyefly

I have an unhealthy obsession with eyewear. I feel this is wildly apparent if you regularly read Scout Sixteen. Recently, Eyefly asked me to try out their collection of affordable, trendy glasses. I chose the Watling Street pair in Light Tortoise and couldn’t be more thrilled with the fit. Typically, glasses are either too big or too small for me – fortunately, this Eyefly pair hits a happy medium.

Another great part about Eyefly is every pair (including prescription lenses) are under $100. With so many affordable options, you won’t have to sacrifice style to fit your budget.

I normally flip the bird to my diet once fall weather hits because, honestly, I have no plans of any person seeing me without my shirt but this season will be different and I’m going to eat healthier. (My friends have bets to see how long this will last). I’ve been heading to the Union Square Greenmarket each Wednesday and Saturday to pick up farm-fresh vegetables and gluten-free snacks. Ever since I started using this amazing market tote (a collaboration between Apolis and Scribe Winery), my trips to the market have been less chore-ridden and more adventurous. After I stock up on vitals, I pop into my local wine shop for two (or ten) bottles of my favorite robust red wines to get me through the chilly nights.

These photos were shot by my new favorite duo – Cup of Couple. Check them out if you haven’t already!

Nestled between minimalist white boutiques on Elizabeth Street in SoHo, A.B. Biagi stands out in bright canary yellow. The vibrant exterior may lure you in, but it will be the first taste of owner (and all-around stud) Antonio Biagi’s artisinal creations that keeps you coming back for more. Flavorful gelato, perfectly-brewed espresso, and exotic teas show off quietly-crafted formulas culled from Biagi’s extensive world travels.

I stopped by A.B. Biagi with friends last week for a summer snack. I opted for a coffee and double scoop of gelato – for future reference, mixing the coconut and peanut butter flavors is pure heaven. If you get a chance to stop by the shop, you won’t regret it. I warn you: the gelato is so sinfully delicious so you’ll be tempted to get seconds. I know I did.

Scout Sixteen - Johnston & Murphy Scout Sixteen - Johnston & Murphy Scout Sixteen - Johnston & Murphy Scout Sixteen - Johnston & Murphy

I absolutely can’t wait for fall’s quick descent on New York City. As much as I love summer, I’m an autumn guy. Watching the leaves turn, sipping on a pumpkin spice latté, and enjoying long conversations with friends on my stoop – it can’t get much better than that. Best of all, I get to put away the shorts and t-shirts and replace them with fall essentials like corduroys and top coats.

Another fall staple: Johnston and Murphy’s wingtips. I have a couple of pairs from the spring collection but I’ve fallen head over heels with the Fall Collection. These Ellington Wingtips in luxe brown leather and rich suede upgrade my autumn gear into fashion-forward style. What do you think of this pair? What would you wear them with?

This look is actually from a week or so ago before I chopped all my hair off … but I thought I’d share with you. I’ve been busy as a beaver with Fashion Week so I haven’t had as much time as I thought to get posts up on the blog, but I have some great shots to show you guys.

Headed to a brunch with RewardStyle and later an event with Socialyte – check out my Instagram for more photos!
