If you’ve been following me on social media, you likely saw my whirlwind trip to Rome with Campari last month… killers, cocktails, and Clive Owen, oh my! In a week full of surprises (and carb-heavy pasta dinners, of course), I had the unique opportunity to join Campari for the global premiere of their latest short film, Killer In Red, featuring the incomparable (and my personal favorite) actor Clive Owen.
The 12-minute film, directed by Italian superstar director Paolo Sorrentino, follows Owen’s ageless bartender/protagonist Floyd in a visually-stunning booze noir. Floyd crafts cocktails explicitly for people and with the Killer In Red, he aims to win the heart of a red-haired vixen. The film is incredibly stylish and I couldn’t think of a better lead than Clive Owen – his minimalist banter and confident delivery empowered the character of Floyd with the type of trust you’d want from your bartender.
I highly suggest you check out the Killer In Red film – but prepare to be awed. This week, I hosted a few friends for a private viewing of the short film. Needless to say, it was a hit! And what better partner-in-crime for the viewing than a Negroni… am I right?! The Negroni is a very easy and delicious cocktail to make when entertaining. At the premiere, they served Killer In Red cocktails – a namesake of the movie. Check out the recipe here and dare to make one for yourself!
I can’t thank Campari enough for including me on this incredible journey! The Negroni is an amazing cocktail to sit back and entertain with because it’s a delicious reminder of all things Italian. From sipping sidewalk café in Rome to at home, I’m delighted that I have a little taste of Italy with me here. This trip was one for the books and I can’t wait to get back to Rome!
So what did you think of the film? Let me know in the comments below!
