Even the most eccentric and colorful New Yorkers aren’t immune to the gravitational pull of an all-black wardrobe or what I call the “closet blackout”. Over the years, I have gathered an inordinate amount of black clothing – from sneakers to sweaters and chinos to cowboy boots (yes, you read that right). There’s something very empowering and authoritative about donning black-on-black. Maybe it’s the Vogue editrix persona or the dashing “James Bond in any movie ever” attitude, whatever it is – I’m falling for it. But of course I couldn’t go all-black without a little pop of color… peach-colored beanies are my new favorite thing. Duh.
What’s your take on black-on-black?
