An AG Afternoon

This holiday season, I’m determined to be a sophisticated member of society. While I’ve always considered myself a bit of a renaissance man, I think it’s high time I started adding some new tricks to my arsenal. Last week, I got the chance to check off two items from my “learning to be a sophisticate” bucket list: crafting a premium cocktail and learning to shuck oysters like a pro. AG Jeans took my buddy Marcel and I out for a day on the town.

We started out at Hotel Americano where our lovely cocktail creator, Lydia, gave us some expert tips on crafting a few of Americano’s signature drinks. I opted for the Thirty Day Aged Rock and Rye, which had the perfect balance of sweet spices (cinnamon) and savory spirit (Rittenhouse Rye). Marcel tried his hand at the Americano’s Cup – a spicy blend Citadelle Gin, cilantro, cucumber, and jalapeño.

After we got our happy hour fix, we headed down to Navy, one of the premiere seafood hotspots in Manhattan’s retail friendly Soho neighborhood. Frankie, our shucking expert, offered a mini history lesson on shucking and let us give it a shot. Admittedly, I wasn’t very good at the process!

I can’t think AG Jeans enough for putting a little sophistication back in my everyday. If you haven’t gotten a chance to peek at their current collection, head on over to their site now. The denim is just perfect and the outerwear you’ll want to wear all year.
