My grandfather loved many things: cigars, sports, and cognac, to name a few. I, on the other hand, couldn’t have been more different. I loved theater, make-believe, and (as an adult) whiskey.
Growing up, I did not understand my grandfather’s tastes because I assumed they were “his thing.” Until recently, I can honestly say I never understood cognac and did not have a natural appreciation for it. However, a few weeks ago that changed completely, I was introduced to Rémy Martin’s 1738 Accord Royal and I saw the light… the delicious, amber-colored light!
Fast-forward to Tuesday when Moti Ankari (from The Metro Man) and I had the opportunity to host a handful of friends for some delicious summer cocktails, courtesy of Rémy Martin. Guests were able to enjoy some hand-crafted libations while taking in sweeping views of midtown Manhattan from the rooftop of The Nomad Hotel.
Rémy Martin’s own Cellar Master, Baptiste Loiseau, was on hand to invite guests into the Rémy Martin story through three hero products in their cognac collection: V.S.O.P.,1738 Accord Royal, and XO Excellence. Each of the three products have distinct and individualized flavor portfolios, so guests were able to engage their senses at each stop through the Rémy Martin story.
It was an evening filled with friends, fun, and some seriously delicious cocktails. If you haven’t explored cognac, look no further than world of Rémy Martin. You’ll be glad you did!
And don’t forget… fine spirits only come with age, so #DrinkResponsibly!
