Mind The Chap Giveaway - Scout Sixteen

Mind The Chap Giveaway - Scout SixteenI was born with the travel bug. My love for traveling is well-known to those who know me personally. Each new place is a spiritual revival; a chance to discover some unique mind-blowing experience. Sounds great right? Yeah, then you have to pack. Confession: I’m the least efficient packer ever! I always, always overdo it … think three weeks worth of “beach essentials” for a 3-day hiking trip upstate.  Seriously, though… what?!

Thankfully, I’ve relied on these killer bags from Insubordinate Lads. The weekender is unbelievably roomy and holds all essentials while keeping my airport style in check. The heavy burlap dopp kit keeps my breakables safe from possible outside perils while the urban camo print blends in nicely to my already-earthy wardrobe.

Mind The Chap Giveaway - Scout Sixteen

I’ve partnered with Mind The Chap, one of the best up-and-comers in the menswear e-commerce market to give away a set of these Insubordinate Lads bags. Want to win? Fill out this easy form below! Remember… the more points your rack, the better your chances!

Doggy Style

Met up with L.A.-based photographer Melly Lee for an afternoon in the park, catching up and stealing dogs. (Not really, but I’d be lying if I hadn’t thought about it). I have a thing for dogs; basically, I love them. All shapes, sizes and colors are welcome in my home. I once had this fear that I would be male canine version of a “Cat Lady”, but then again that was once (a.k.a. not now). My personal favorite was the tiniest lil guy that sat in my lap and licked my face.

If you haven’t seen Melly’s photos, you’re in for a real treat. Check them out here.

Aftermath

Thankfully, I survived Hurricane Sandy with little more than some power outages and minor flooding. Sadly to say, some people weren’t as lucky. I’ve spent the past three days huddled with friends inside an apartment weathering the storm. Yesterday, we took a long walk around the city… mostly to survey the damage but also to stretch our legs. The wind was absolutely out of control, nearly blew me away – so thankfully, I had this killer windbreaker from Cheap Monday to battle it out.

Were any of my East Coast readers hit hard?

Let fall begin…

Fall is honestly my favorite time of year for many reasons – but at the top of that pyramid is the Union Square Greenmarket. Every Wednesday and Saturday, artisans take over Union Square and set up shop. But around October 1st, the pumpkins come out. Homemade pumpkin bread, apple-spiced pumpkin pies… and so on. This is where I normally do all of my organic shopping because the produce is just so fresh – much of it has been trucked down from upstate New York. Carrots, potatoes, blueberries are at their freshest at the Greenmarket. If  you come to NYC, you must check it out – and get ready to haggle.
