Itās no surprise I love coffee. Like any working professional, I nearly depend on my morning cup of joe to jumpstart my energy and productivity for the day. Most days, Iāll have a cup in the morning and a cup in the afternoonā¦ but, if weāre being honest, Mondays often require a second morning cup.
Usually, I opt for my favorite light roast – but with summer in full swing, I was really craving a perfect homemade iced coffee recipe. My friends had varying tips and tricks that theyād learned from a coffee-loving relative or while on the road in some exotic locale. They were fine recipes but they werenāt what I was looking for. I wanted something deliciously simple, flavorful, and ā most of all ā incredibly easy to make.
Guess where I found it? In my own apartment!
My kitchen is full of gadgets and recently Iād added the Nespresso Inissia machine to the family. I test-drove the machine at a friendās place and instantly became obsessed. Had to have my own (because I obviously have zero chill). While hunting for my āperfectā iced coffee, I tried out two Nespresso on Ice recipes I found on the brandās website and ā VOILA! ā my search was over.
Recipe #1
- Place 3 oz. of ice cubes in a tall glass (the Nespresso PURE Recipe glasses work amazingly).
- Insert capsule into Nespresso machine
- Brew one Ristretto Grand Cru into glass.
- Add 3 oz. of water.
- Shave ginger root over the top, to taste.
- Enjoy!
Recipe #2
- Place 3 oz. of ice cubes in a tall glass (the Nespresso PURE Recipe glasses work amazingly).
- Insert capsule into Nespresso machine
- Brew one Vanilio GrandCruinto glass.
- Froth 3 oz. of milk (preferably using the Nespresso Aeroccino 4 Milk Frother) and pour into glass.
- Drizzle maple syrup over top, to taste.
- Enjoy!
I mean, cāmon, how delicious do these sound? Admittedly, since discovering these recipes, Iāve had at least two of them per day ā but I canāt help myself, I feel like a skilled barista in my own home (and the best part is that I donāt even have to change out of my PJās)!
My mom has a kitchen philosophy that goes, āeverything nice deserves a little spice.ā She often adds a dash of an unexpected flavor (like Thai Chilies, cinnamon, etc.) to her favorite recipes. Itās a trick Iāve always kept with me ā which is probably why I love these two recipes so much. The surprising flavor profiles of the shaved ginger root and maple syrup were like fireworks to my taste buds!
If you havenāt jump started your summer with an excellent Nespresso on Ice drink, itās about time you did. You can hop on over to their Iced Coffee site to get even more ideas for tantalizing flavor combinations and find more information about the Nespresso Inissia machine.
Itās like they always say, good things CAN happen in summer. You just have to know where to look!
xo,
