How To Wear An Oxford Shirt - Scout Sixteen
One Shirt, Two Ways

An essential in anyone’s wardrobe should be a crisp white oxford shirt. This classic piece can be paired with literally anything. As my wardrobe has grown, so has my need for a few different options in my white oxford, but they all share one unifying factor: they’re durable. I typically purchase less expensive options because I wear through them each season (those terrible, unavoidable pit stains, red wine stains etc). I get a lot of questions asking, how can I ‘style up’ my white button-down shirts? I decided to put together a little Wear It Now with this Old Navy white oxford shirt, priced at only $20.

For Him:

I typically go for a “dressed-down” dressy look. It’s business casual at its most comfortable aspect. The Band of Outsiders quilted vest (similar) is both on trend and stylish – while the army chinos from All Saints keep the look grounded in earth tones. The bow-tie is optional, but I always like to add a pop of color in my looks, which this Allyn ‘Polo’ bow-tie does perfectly.

For Her:

I love this upscale grunge combination. It’s a bit like the lovechild between Debbie Harry (yes!) and just about any Bond Girl, ever. The ‘Boys’ sweatshirt from Zoe Karsson is the perfect relaxer for the classic button-down, while Paul & Joe Sister’s leather mini over-exaggerates the bad-ass glam without being violent. The yellow and gold accessories are what bring this outfit back into the fashion stratosphere – nothing like neon gold for fall.
