On weekends when I’m home in the City, I try to do at least one thing that gets me out away from my local haunts. This weekend, my friend Serena and I decided to spend a few hours pumping ourselves full of some serious history at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (fondly known as The Met).
Maneuvering between ancient Egyptian artifacts, colonial art, and an incredible Chinese costume exhibit, we finished our museum outing with a little quiet reflection in Grecian and Roman art hall. Well… it was more of a “resting our bones” stop than introspective reflection, but either way we culled a lot of inspiration from some of history’s greatest creators. If you haven’t checked out some of the Met’s current exhibits, it’s an absolute must.
In typical fashion, we finished up our day with stuffed-to-perfection tacos and prickly pear margaritas at Javelina. Because, duh.
