As far back as I can remember I’ve chased sensory experiences. A powerful flavor or bold scent will always entrance me.

Recently, I took Perry Ellis’s newest cologne Citron for the ultimate test drive. The cologne features vibrant top notes of bergamot and mandarin, which, at once, engages my senses with memories of summer weekends spent climbing the citrus trees lining my grandmother’s backyard. Splashes of star anise and granny smith apple round out the heart of the scent, which kicks it up a notch with spicy black pepper and soothing lavender.

My favorite part of Citron’s profile is the subtle (but noticeable) notes of teak and cedarwood that rise from the bottom-most reaches of the scent. The addition of these muskier blends infuses Citron with a strong and masculine character. Woodsy scents are among my all-time favorites and by offering this manly combination, Perry Ellis knocks it out of the park with Citron!

Perry Ellis is hosting a fantastic contest around the Citron cologne over on their social channels. By uploading a citron-colored photo to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter and tagging @PerryEllis and hashtagging #PerryCitron, you’ll be entered to win the ultimate grand prize of an Apple Watch (with citron-colored sport band), Citron cologne gift set, and a gym bag!
