M.Nii x Gap

Each year, GQ partners with Gap to highlight some of the best newcomers in the men’s fashion. Now in its eighth year, the Best New Menswear Designers in America has rolled out their new class of sartorial all-stars. For the second installment in this series, I’m profiling storied surf brand M.Nii. Originally in business in Hawaii from 1948-1968, it was revived in 2011 by Los Angeles-based designer John Moore. Built for the outdoor enthusiast in all of us, it’s not wonder some of the world’s best surfers favor M.Nii over the competition.

I’ve styled this M.Nii t-shirt with some of my favorite Gap pieces, like these summery white jeans. Don’t forget – I’ll be debuting the actual designer capsule collection in September so stay tuned!
