But First, Coffee…

Earlier this week I had the immense honor of getting to preview the new Starbucks Reserve Roastery in New York City, which opens December 14th in the Meatpacking District (61 9th Avenue @ 15th St). To say that this space blew me away would be an understatement. From the thoughtfully designed interiors down to the most purposeful details, there isnā€™t one stone left unturned in this spaceā€¦ and Iā€™m confident yā€™all are going to LOVE it as much as I did.

If you arenā€™t familiar with Starbucksā€™ Roastery concept, donā€™t worry ā€“ this is only the fourth location worldwide! The Roastery is an immersive and dramatic expression of Starbucksā€™ passion for coffee. In other words, it is a beautiful homage to their pursuit of coffee innovation as well as to the community of coffee-lovers theyā€™ve fostered over the last four decades. At the Roastery, customers can experience some of the most immersive, multi-sensory demonstrations of how Starbucks sources, roasts, and crafts the finest coffees from around the world.

One of my absolute favorite aspects to this new Starbucks Reserve experience was the craft cocktail barā€¦ because duh, itā€™s 5 oā€™clock somewhere, right? The Roastery marks the first time in the U.S. that Starbucks will debut Arriviamo, a cozy bar nestled in the upper mezzanine where mixologists serve coffee and tea cocktails by award-winning mixologist Julia Momose (and inspired by the veryyyy Italian tradition of ā€˜aperitivoā€™)! And the Italian influence extends into the bites served on site as well, with fresh baking from the Milanese boutique bakery, Princi!

Along with Arriviamo, the Roastery also offers a selection of other top-notch experiences – like the Experience Bar, where customers looking to deepen their knowledge of coffee can get their hands dirty. And when you first enter, youā€™ll notice another one of my favorite spots: the curated products gallery. From the irreverent to the aspirational, these are some of Starbucksā€™ favorite findsā€¦ and I may have found myself walking home with a few new little discoveries! Treat yourself, right?

The Reserve Roastery opens in New York 25 years after the first Starbucks arrived in the city and this space is truly a love letter to the City That Never Sleeps. Whether youā€™re a local or a tourist, youā€™ll feel right at home in the Roastery. Cozy up with a good book, hammer out that last midterm paper, or invite a friend for a catch upā€¦ all while sipping on some of the most premium coffee (or cocktails!) around.

I highly encourage each of you to stop by and see for yourself, donā€™t just take my word for it! And for those of you not in New York now or in the near future, you can experience Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle, Shanghai and Milanā€¦ with locations coming to Tokyo and Chicago in 2019!
