Each year, GQ partners with Gap to highlight some of the best newcomers in the men’s fashion. Now in its eighth year, the Best New Menswear Designers in America has rolled out their new class of sartorial all-stars. Over the next few months, I’ve partnered with Gap to catalog looks that you can score in Gap stores now along with a piece from each of the BNMDA designers own collection. In September, I’ll be debuting the actual designer capsule collection so stay tuned!

To start it off, we’ve got this fitted striped shirt from Brooklyn Tailors. Daniel Lewis, the designer behind the neighborhood staple and East Coast favorite, cites classic rock ‘n’ roll (like the Strokes and the Stones) as a major inspiration. His suiting has become a go-to silhouette for the creative class thanks to luxe fabrics and attention to detail.
