I’m not usually one to claim ‘main character energy’ but y’all today was the exception. This all-black outfit had me strutting around the East Village radiating that can’t-tell-me-nothin’ attitude that only head-to-toe black can give you… and I swear every time I caught my reflection, the chorus from George Michael’s “Father Figure” would immediately start playing in my head.
I will be your father figure…
put your tiny hand in mine.”
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I can’t resist playing dress up… slipping into different personas or dreaming up new characters to style around. This morning, I was feeling some major ’80s heartthrob vibes – say hello to my inner Tom Cruise meets Rob Lowe fantasy.
This buttery leather jacket from Sandro (similar option) was clearly doing all the heavy lifting, but let’s not sleep on the Hiro Clark T-Shirt (c’mon leather daddy!). These Andersson Bell jeans had a certain chaps-ish vibe to them so they felt like a perfect complement. What do you think?
Let’s just say: I was very ready to dramatically slow-walk down a rain-slicked street while pretending I was the star of my own music video. Because, let’s be sooo real here – if you’re wearing a leather jacket and NOT imagining yourself as the main character in an angsty late-night montage… is it even worth wearing?
I think not.
