Remember that time one of my favorite brands invited me to their Thanksgiving dinner and I showed up wearing head-to-toe tartan? Yeah… um, me neither. [facepalm]
In my defense, the invite specified a “come bold and festive” dress code so I thought it was like an ‘Ugly Christmas Sweater’ kind of shindig. It was not. It very much was not. And I showed up looking like I’d just maxed out my credit card in a Scottish gift shop lol. (At least everyone got a good laugh.)
Here’s the thing: I freakin’ love plaid. Pattern play at its best! I’ve honestly never met a plaid I didn’t like… and this oversized cozy ASOS coat has been in my rotation for the last couple years.
I love the unexpected mix of reds, oranges, and blues because it gives me a bevy of options for mixing-and-matching what goes underneath. I opted to keep it casual with this GU sweater and a pair of slouchy light wash denim. Classic Justin.
Speaking of mixing and matching, I’d love to hear your take on plaid! Drop a comment below and let me know if you’ve ever had your own fashion faux pas that somehow turned into a signature style moment.
