I have a love-hate relationship with summer. Summer heralds in sweltering weather, sweaty mornings, and sticky afternoons, but it also ushers in outdoor seating at your favorite restaurants, cold sweet treats, and – best of all – Summer Fridays!
Companies treat Summer Fridays in various ways (half-days, free days, or relaxed dress code) but in the millennial workforce, it’s a common perk and one that many employees look forward to most! Personally, I honor Summer Fridays with a half-day at the office and summer-appropriate attire.
I recently did a little late-night shopping at one of my favorite retailers, Neiman Marcus, to upgrade my work-week wardrobe with some warm-weather essentials. For starters, this short sleeve linen button-down shirt is a surefire summer staple. Light-weight and made in Italy, this top sports the perfect shade of blue (and one that’ll easily pair with shorts, denim, or trousers)!
I paired my linen top with white chinos and clean white sneakers. Honestly, you can’t do summer without adding a few stark white elements into the mix! To accessorize my look, I opted for this sleek anchor pendant necklace from Miansai and this pair of blue tortoise sunglasses from See Eyewear. Both pieces feature classic elements with a twist… just how I like it!
To nail Summer Friday style, go light, bright, and comfortable because it is summer and it is Friday… how could it possible get any sweeter? Stock up on all the essentials at Neiman Marcus. With an incredible array of designer must-owns and a constantly-updating catalog of menswear favorites, NM is your one-stop shop for upcoming summer fun (check out their curated Vacation Shop).
