On Home-Cooking

Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Cream Sauce / Scout Sixteen

I love to cook, I really do. However, I also love to eat and sometimes I just don’t want to cook, so I’ll either go out and/or get delivery. Unfortunately, this isn’t good for my waistline or my wallet. After all these vows to change my unhealthy habits this year (like getting organized and detoxing my life) with support from 7 For All Mankind, I decided it was time to start cooking at home more often. And I must say… so far, so good!

I’m always in the kitchen, albeit it’s typically more for snacking purposes rather than creative spirit. I scoured the internet for recipes on healthy alternatives to my favorite dishes. Five nights a week, I’ve made it an unbreakable vow to cook dinner at home (and use the leftovers for lunch the next day). So far, I’ve seen the savings and an improvement in my health: my skin is smoother, hardly a muffintop to be found, etc.

Over the next few weeks, I want to encourage you to follow along as I share my favorite new recipes and discover that – yes! – guys can cook in the kitchen… regardless of what my grandmother says.
