Scout Sixteen - #ConradCarryOn

When I travel, I divide my packing into two units: the checked luggage and the carry on. I’m very particular about what items get the seal of approval for carry-on status. I dub them my ‘travel essentials’ (some of which you saw in this recent post) because quite honestly, traveling would be a pain without them.

Here’s a little preview of what I’m packing for my trip to California next week…

1. Banana Republic Scarf, Ted Baker Baseball Cap, Bally Swiss Bracelet and AllSaints Jacket… each of these pieces keep my style in check even at 35,000 feet.
2. Coach Carry-On Tote, Passport Case, and Octovo iPad Mini Case… the necessary leather goods I need to protect my MacBook and iPad.
3. Frends Headphones… stylish as hell with amazing sound.
4. Daniel Wellington Watch and Station Alarm Clock… when I’m traveling to different time zones, these two bad boys keep me in check in the hotel and on the go.

It’s late afternoon and the sun is finally out. We’ve spent the day wandering the 1st Arrondissement with little to no agenda – no itinerary to follow. As we cross the bridge, I spot a graffiti artist steady at work in the walkway below. I descend the stairs hoping to catch a few quick snaps of his work in progress but I’m too late – he’s moved on to his next target. I decide a quick stroll along the Seine’s left bank would be nice since I’m already down there.

What a visceral experience it is to roam ground that was first built upon by the Romans in the 1st century BC. The 5th Arrondissement is actually the oldest of them all and it has no shame in reminding you of that with every step… weathered stone walls and ancient anchor pulls stand at attention waiting to mesmerize pedestrians like a siren to the sea. If you get a chance, take this walk – you certainly won’t regret it.

Paris is one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the world. I can say that with utter confidence now. Romance and energy run through every fiber of this city; needless to say, I’m having the best time! It was an on-the-fly trip with leather goods brand Octovo – so naturally I packed up all my favorite Octovo pieces and a few other essentials to get here so quickly.

I thought I’d share a bit of a “What In My Bag” type post so you could see the things I definitely travel without, especially internationally. From face serums that keep me looking fresh (even on little sleep) to my trusted Octovo travel wallet that keeps my essentials in order, these products make traveling a breeze. Be sure to check out Octovo for some seriously chic (and masculine) leather goods… and follow me on Instagram to see snaps from the City of Lights.

Scout Sixteen - Cradle to Cradle H&M Dinner Roskilde

Twelve courses. That’s how many dishes were served during our very special dinner with H&M here at the Roskilde Festival. Christina and I had the pleasure of attending a very private ‘Cradle to Cradle’ dinner (for 24 guests) that told the story of a chicken from birth to death. We dined on chickens grown and groomed for this special dinner. Everything used was made from scraps or trash – and to say it was beyond delicious is not quite doing it justice. Edible sugar egg shells, full chicken legs peppered with corn compost flakes, and brined parsley alcohol were among my favorites.

I can’t thank H&M enough for giving Christina and I the opportunity to come to Denmark and spend time soaking up all this beautiful country has to offer. It’s been an unbelievable experience and I can’t wait to share a set of photos in tomorrow’s post “Postcards from Denmark”.

Have you ever been to Denmark?

Experience the full dinner after the jump.
