Blogger Justin Livingston in Earnest Sewn

Scout 16 x Earnest Sewn

I was recently asked to participate in Earnest Sewn’s 30 Day Denim Challenge. For one full month, I would wear a pair of Earnest Sewn jeans without washing. I had free reign over creativity with this jean… in terms of DIY’ing, etc. At the end of the month, ES’s Creative Director Benjamin Talley Smith would choose the wash/DIY he liked best from the intimate pool of participating bloggers. This winning style will be named after the blogger and reproduced for an upcoming season to be sold online and in select ES stores.

Because Earnest Sewn represents true Americana to me, I chose to DIY my pairs with my favorite bandana – a perfect representation of my aesthetic: classic with a twist. The natural whiskering affects (from constant wear) have begun to show around the inseam and rear pockets. This added to the James Dean flavor of my pair. To hit the “Americana” theme home (in my own way), I paired my newly DIY’ed jean with a classic denim jacket and a New York Yankees baseball cap. What do you think?
